Bible Truth FAQs

WILL EVERYONE CONFESS CHRIST?

The Psalmist wrote, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" (Ps. 14:1 also Ps. 53:1). The atheist cannot confess faith in a being that he does not believe exists. A great many others who are not atheists are no better off spiritually because they will not obey the Son.

In writing to the church at Rome the Apostle Paul stated, "For it is written, as I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, end every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God (Rom. 14:11-12, also see Phil. 2:9-11). Those who refuse to honor Christ in this life will do so at the judgment. Here it can be for salvation; there it will be in condemnation.

What do the unbeliever and the disobedient hope to gain? There is no spiritual comfort for them in this life and certainly no assurance for anything good beyond the grave. Christ is the author of eternal salvation to them that obey him (Heb. 5:8-9).
