WHY WOMEN CANNOT PREACH

Modern religionists are coming around to "ordaining" women to preach publicly from the pulpit. As part of the human family, women generally are equal to men in both intelligence and ability. So how can women be denied the right to pulpit preaching without discrimination? It depends on who is doing the discriminating.

The Apostle Paul (I Tim. 2:11-14) said, "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." To the church at Corinth he said (I Cor. 14:34), "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak." The spiritual order is explained in I Cor. 11:3, and it is explicitly set forth as: 1- God the Father, 2- Christ, 3- man, 4- woman.

This is God's arrangement, and we have no right to alter it or even to question it. People may do many things contrary to God's will in the name of religion, but pretending to be religious will not permit one to enter into heaven. This will be accomplished only by doing God's will {Matt. 7:21-23). Women can do many admirable things in the Lord's church, but public preaching is not among them.
