WHEN THE WORLD WILL END

Throughout history men have dared to predict the exact date the world will come to an end. All have been proved to be false prophets. You may be assured that those who make such predictions are false prophets. Why?

In Matt. 24 Jesus was explaining to his disciples that Jerusalem was going to be destroyed. They asked him two questions: (1) When shall these things be? (destruction of Jerusalem), and (2) What would be the sign of His coming and of the end of the world? The first question was answered in verses 4-34, ending with, "This generation shall not pass, till all these things shall be fulfilled."

The question regarding the end of the world was answered in verses 36-51. The gist of this answer is that no sign will be given, Christ will return at a time when he is not expected, and that no person, except the Heavenly Father, knows the day and hour. When man predicts the time for the world to end, he presumes to know more than God has revealed. Mark him down as a false prophet!
