Bible Truth FAQs

WHEN ARE THE LAST DAYS?

Many people are prone to look at world events and say, "This is what the Bible says would take place in the last days." Recent wars, global turmoil and strife, even weather conditions set people to thinking and talking. Do people really understand what is meant by the Biblical expression "the last days?"

In Bible history there have been three major dispensations of time: (1) Patriarchal, (2) Mosaic, and (3) Christian (or church age). The last of these began with Christ almost 2,000 years ago. On the first Pentecost following Christ's resurrection (Acts 2) Peter proclaimed to the multitude in Jerusalem on that occasion that the strange events taking place were that spoken by the prophet Joel, that these things would happen in the last days. Thus, the "last days" are the last dispensation which began almost 2,000 years ago.

Current events are being linked to the end of the world. Don't count on it. Jesus said there would be no specific signs given for the end of the world (Matt. 24:36-51).
