Bible Truth FAQs

After gaining independence slightly over two centuries ago, our country grew almost miraculously to international prominence. In an atmosphere of freedom it has become the most powerful and the most successful of any nation in history. The aim of the founding fathers was, "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," and foremost was religious freedom. Coinage of money was inscribed, "In God We Trust."

Now we seem to have lost sight of the principles upon which our country was founded. Emphasis is now being given to the right to be irreligious, more rights and protection to criminals, and greater tax burdens on the common people. Immorality abounds everywhere, and the populace craves entertainment. Fewer and fewer are concerned with spiritual values.

How long can this continue? There 1s no way to determine this, but the Bible says (II Pet. 3:7) that the heavens and earth are kept 1n store by the word of God, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. When he has had enough of our ungodliness, God will bring it to an end. Right now it behooves each or us to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world (Titus 2:12).
