WHAT HAPPENS AT DEATH?

Humans do not like to think about death. There 1s an innate dread of facing the great unknown. The nature of the condition deprives us of the counsel of those who have experienced it, so for each of us the mystic dread lies ahead. It is a unique appointment which we do not wish to keep, and after it comes the judgment (Heb. 9:27).

Simply stated, a body becomes dead when the spirit departs from it. "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was; and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it" (Eccl. 12:7).

What happens at death or after death is determined by what happens before death. It has been said that heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. The preparation must be made now. At death it w111 be too late. In the Revelation a voice from heaven instructed John to write, "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord..." (Rev. 14:13). The necessary preparation is to be IN THE LORD when death comes (Gal. 3:20-27, II Cor. 5:17). Don't delay! None of us has the promise of tomorrow. Call if you need assistance.
