THE UNPARDONABLE SIN

During the personal ministry of Christ upon the earth he called attention to a very grievous sin. He said (Matt. 12:31-32) that whosoever speaks against the Holy Ghost (blasphemy), it shall not be forgiven him in this world, neither in the world to come.

Many fail to recognize the temporary nature of such things as demon spirits, miraculous gifts, and direct manifestations of the Holy Spirit, which were attendant to the apostolic age. I Cor. 13 and Eph. 4 point out the discontinuance of such things conditioned with the perfecting of the saints and the edification and maturing of the church.

Jesus told his apostles that when he left to return to his Father that he would send the Holy Ghost to guide them into all truth (John 16). The Holy Spirit about A.D. 90 inspired the Apostle John to write (I John 1:7), "If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." ALL sin means ANY sin, and the only exception would be the sin for which a person refuses to repent and confess.
