Bible Truth FAQs

Just being religious is dangerous. People have somehow come up with the philosophy that any religion is all right if a person is honest and sincere. The Bible gives no support for thinking such. On the contrary, scriptures teach the fallacy of the idea.

In Matt. 7:22-23 Jesus gave a preview of the judgment scene when some will claim certain religious deeds done in the name of Christ, and he will say, "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Their works will not have been the will of God, for in verse 21 Jesus had just said that he who does the Father's will shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.

This tells us that religious practices not authorized by God are damning. Therefore, it behooves us to find clear-cut scriptural authority for everything we do in religious matters.
