Bible Truth FAQs

JESUS CHRIST HAS EXISTED ETERNALLY

The doctrine that Christ is a created being, and not divine, has no scriptural support. To the contrary, the Bible teaches us that Jesus has always existed as a person of the godhead, one of three who bear record in heaven (I John 5:7), who are united as one (Deut. 6:4).

John wrote (John l:l), "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Complete identification of "the Word" is given in verse 14, "And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

In verse 3 John stated, "All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made." Seeing that the Word (Christ) was creator of everything that was created, how is it possible that he himself is a created being?
