ARE HUMAN TRADITIONS DISPLEASING?
In the many religious systems existing today there seems to be more effort expended in perpetuating human traditions than there is in learning and respecting God's word.
As an example of following human traditions, perhaps the largest and most influential of all religious institutions many years ago issued regulations prohibiting marriage for certain members and placing restrictions on the eating of meats. This was done in spite of the warning given in I Tim. 4:1-5 which states that such is the result of "departing from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils."
Jesus said of the Jews of his day (Matt. 15:9), "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." He stated in Mark 7:9, "Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition." This tells us that when men follow human traditions, they have rejected God.
